Fractional General Counsel

Many businesses struggle to balance their need for competent professional legal advice, particularly in their business operations, against the cost of obtaining appropriate legal advice. Businesses that especially struggle with this balance include businesses that routinely have questions or issues that arise in the operation of their businesses, but cannot afford the cost of a full-time in-house general counsel that is solely dedicated to the needs of their business.

The alternative typically includes turning to a law firm for help when such matters arise, but find that the attorneys are not always available to immediately address such issues. This leaves the business (the “Business”) with a frustrating scenario to either pay higher rates for immediate assistance or tolerate delays that frustrate the operation of the Business. Such delays cost the Business sales and profits.

Metcalf Law Firm, PLLC (the “Firm”) now has a program that can help Businesses with this dilemma! The Firm’s Fractional In-House Counsel Program (the “Program”) guarantees to provide the Business with a seasoned business and real estate attorney to address the needs of the Business in a predictable and reasonable time frame without losing the quality of the legal services that the Business deserves and expects. The Program may allow for the attorney to be available at the office of the Business if the Business wants such an arrangement.

The Program involves an agreement between the Firm and the Business for the Firm to provide an appropriate block of time dedicated to the Business along with a schedule of guaranteed availability of the appropriate attorney for the Firm that fits the specific needs of the Business. Additionally, the Business will enjoy discounted hourly rates by joining the Program. Lance Metcalf is the founding partner of Metcalf Law Firm, PLLC. Lance brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to business owners to assist businesses with a variety of legal as well as business needs. Along with Lance’s over 20 years of business and commercial real estate
legal experience, Lance also earned an MBA in business and spent more than 10 years working as a CPA prior to beginning his legal career. Lance offers his combination of legal, CPA and business experience as a solution to business owners experiencing this dilemma.

How does the Program work? The Firm and the Business enter into a written agreement (outside of this document) on a month to month basis that includes a block of time and related schedule in exchange for a fixed monthly fee based on a discounted hourly rate (the “Contract”). Maintaining flexibility of the Program is paramount – so, no long-term contracts!
